Job summary Murton Medical Group is looking to expand their team and are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, flexible patient services advisor to join our very busy but friendly GP Practice based in Murton. We are looking for a full time patient services advisor to join our team, applicants must have experience of working in a NHS setting and have a knowledge of medical reception duties. Main duties of the job The main role of the patient services advisor will be dealing with patients both face to face and via telephone, you will book/amend appointments as well as home visits. You will process repeat prescriptions, acknowledge arrivals and direct to relevant waiting area's. In addition to this you may also perform summarising/coding of clinical letters as well as scanning and other administrative duties. You will also liaise with other practice staff, healthcare professionals and external agencies. As the successful post holder you will be working in a patient facing role, providing high quality and professional services to patients, GP's and other healthcare professionals. About us We are a 4 Doctor practice serving over 7350 patients, and are in purpose built premises in the village of Murton, County Durham. Our Team includes 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, well established Nursing Team, Pharmacy Team, and a hard working Management, Reception and Administrative Team. Process repeat prescription requests and forward any queries relating to prescriptions to the practice pharmacist and/or pharmacy technician. Take home visit requests. Deal with general enquiries and complaints. Take messages accurately and pass on in a timely manner. Assist people to access the services they need. Undertake a variety of reception duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice. Register new and temporary residents. Give out pathology results, once actioned by clinicians. Arrange and book translators. Respond to the needs of GP's and Nurses to enable efficient clinics.
