Job summary Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust Paediatric Physiotherapy service and Wheelchair Service have created an exciting post which aims to form a seamless service for the paediatric population. This is a full time post with a 50/50 split between both services. They will be mainly responsible for the Paediatric wheelchair caseload which involves overseeing the wheelchair clinics in the Wheelchair Centre in Seaton Delaval, working into special schools and outreach clinics, providing training in paediatric conditions and their management to wheelchair therapists and stakeholders and liaising with therapists in the community and acute settings. They will work closely with other therapists, regional engineers and manufacturing companies. On occasion the post holder may be required to take part in adult wheelchair clinics, Saturday and out of hour clinics as the needs of the service commands. The post holder must have paediatric physiotherapy experience at either an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 level. It would be beneficial but not essential to have previous wheelchair experience. Training in this area will be provided.
