Future Teachers Programme – Graduate Internship (Religious Studies Teacher)
Are you a graduate with a passion for Religious Studies and a desire to inspire the next generation? Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers Graduate Scheme offers a unique opportunity to gain paid, hands-on experience in a secondary school before enrolling in teacher training.
This 12-month internship is designed for graduates considering a career in secondary education. You’ll work as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, developing your skills and confidence before progressing to a PGCE or Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.
* Start Date: September 2025
* Location: Schools across Greater Manchester (Manchester, Stockport, Salford, Trafford, Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, and Oldham)
* Eligible Graduates: Those with a degree in Religious Studies or a related Humanities subject who aspire to become secondary school teachers.
As part of the Future Teachers Programme, you’ll gain practical classroom experience, supporting students and teachers in the Religious Studies department. Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with lesson planning and classroom management.
* Supporting students through small group sessions and one-on-one tuition.
* Covering classes and helping to improve pupil attainment.
* Gaining an in-depth understanding of the teaching profession.
This structured programme provides valuable insight into teaching while strengthening your subject knowledge and professional skills.
* Paid Internship: Earn £1500–£1700 per month in your first year, followed by a £25,000 salary in your second training year.
* Professional Development: Gain practical experience to prepare for teacher training.
* Direct Pathway to a Teaching Career: A strong foundation to secure a place on a PGCE or ITT course.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated graduates who:
* Have completed their degree by August 2025.
* Are committed to pursuing a career in secondary education.
* Can commit to the full-time internship (Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 3:00pm) from September 2025 to July 2026.
