About the Programme This 12-month internship is designed for graduates considering a career in secondary education. You’ll work as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, developing your skills and confidence before progressing to a PGCE or Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme. Programme Details Start Date: September 2025 Location: Schools across Greater Manchester (Manchester, Stockport, Salford, Trafford, Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, and Oldham) Eligible Graduates: Those with a degree in Religious Studies or a related Humanities subject who aspire to become secondary school teachers. Your Role as a Future Teacher As part of the Future Teachers Programme, you’ll gain practical classroom experience, supporting students and teachers in the Religious Studies department. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting with lesson planning and classroom management. Supporting students through small group sessions and one-on-one tuition. Covering classes and helping to improve pupil attainment. Gaining an in-depth understanding of the teaching profession. This structured programme provides valuable insight into teaching while strengthening your subject knowledge and professional skills. What’s in It for You?
