I am looking for an experienced and successful General Manager with a successful track record in the construction/engineering business to head up a company that turns over £25 million a year and employs over 100 staff. You will be entrepreneurial, be a great communicator with customers, suppliers and staff, have strong management skills and have an understanding of P&L, budgeting, buying and sales. Ideally you would come from your own business or SME in a similar sector. You will have an excellent work ethic and be fully committed to the business, willing to travel and be away from home for short periods of time several times a year and drive the business forward. You will need a good understanding of accounts and able to read a balance sheet, sales, purchasing and controlling costs. You will have experience in running a business either fully or partially and probably from a small / SME business background. Knowledge of the construction equipment sector an advantage. My client is an engineering company in the West Midlands with over 100 employees and a turnover currently in excess of £25m. It has customers and suppliers across the UK and Europe. Salary commensurate with experience but circa £100,000 pa with company car, pension scheme and other benefits
