Job Opportunity
The Site Security Manager is responsible for managing all security personnel and the day-to-day operational issues impacting on the client, providing a central point of contact for service delivery development, performance, measurement and centralised reporting which fully demonstrates the Securitas Values of Helpfulness, Vigilance and Integrity.
Responsibilities
• To be the first point of contact for site security function related queries and responsible for managing the resolution of more complex security issues on site and escalating when required to the security management team or our customer’s relevant security division.
• Recruitment, selection, management and development of direct reporting personnel.
• To rigorously review and promote health and safety on site.
• Accurate rostering of all Officers ensuring sufficient cover for holidays, sickness and absences, ensuring 100% compliance to contractual hours, planning and staff management to minimise avoidable and non-chargeable costs.
• All security personnel are contacted and reviewed/coached as required at least once a month in order to proactively monitor performance and maintain positive employee relations.
• All employee relation issues are dealt with promptly and consistently using the company’s disciplinary and grievance procedures and any other relevant procedures and guidelines.
• Actively encourage staff recognition and staff nominations for awards.
• Assignment instructions, databases and site documentation is current, in date and the management of risk through effective risk assessments.
• All incidents are reported in compliance with the customer’s policy and procedure.
• Planning, development and implementing strategy for personnel training, including routine duties and emergency procedures.
• Being fully conversant with operational functions including access control, CCTV, detection and alarm systems, ensuring effective monitoring and reporting function is maintained.
• Analysis of complex information to identify security related trends, reporting these effectively to the customer.
• To assist Deputy and Branch manager in minimising direct costs and indirect costs to branch.
• Ensuring, understanding and implementing Securitas Core Values; Integrity, Helpfulness and Vigilance.
• Ensuring adequate and appropriate training, advice and support is provided to make the team successful. This includes ensuring knowledge and use of key systems, tools and policies; undertaking regular appraisals, providing open feedback on progress and career development; and managing underperformance effectively.
• To manage all security related day to day issues with swift actions and feedback.
• To maintain a professional and proactive relationship with internal property/facilities as well as key internal stakeholders.
• To take the lead and provide a security solution for any internal and external events that may heighten the threat to the client.
• From time to time, offer assistance with out of hours’ internal events
Essential Skills
• Right to work in the UK
• Born British Citizen or Held British passport for min 5 years
• Valid frontline SIA licence
• Full 5-year checkable work history
• Strong communication skills
• Competent in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
• Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills. Able to negotiate and deal with sensitive confidential matters with tact and discretion
• Adaptable and responsive in the face of changes in priorities, plans and schedules
• Experience with managing large teams
