* As they continue their ambitious growth journey, they are seeking a dynamic Grocery Director to develop commercial strategy, strengthen key retailer partnerships, and drive the development of a highly engaged and high calibre sales team
The Role:
As Grocery Director, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the Grocery & Discounter strategy across major UK retailers. You will lead a sales team of c20 and work cross-functionally to drive profitable growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence at the highest level, developing long-term, commercially successful retailer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a winning grocery strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends.
* Retailer Management: Own senior-level relationships with top grocery customers (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi.), driving Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and category partnerships.
* P&L Ownership: Manage a significant revenue portfolio, delivering profitable growth, margin expansion, and optimised trade investment.
* Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of Account Controllers and Managers, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Revenue & Pricing Strategy: Drive CPI execution, promotional effectiveness, and revenue management to maximise profitability.
* Category & Innovation: Work closely with category, marketing, and supply chain teams to deliver best-in-class NPD, shopper insights, and availability solutions.
* Customer Engagement: Develop and present strategic initiatives at top-to-top meetings with retailers, ensuring long-term partnerships.
Key Requirements:
* Senior commercial experience in FMCG, ideally in a Grocery Director, Controller, or Head of Sales role.
* Proven track record of large P&L ownership, revenue growth, and category leadership within a top-tier FMCG business.
* Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with experience leading Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and CPI execution.
* Exceptional leadership ability, with a passion for developing and mentoring teams.
* Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution.
* Experience working with UK grocery multiples at a senior level.
* Excellent analytical skills, with experience in revenue management, trade investment, and pricing strategies.
* Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working alongside category, marketing, and supply chain teams.
