KS2 Lead Teacher Responsibilities Lead the KS2 team, providing clear direction and support to ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the key stage. Take responsibility for the KS2 curriculum, ensuring it’s engaging, challenging, and tailored to the needs of all learners. Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching and provide targeted support where needed. Promote and share best practices across KS2, helping staff continuously improve and develop their teaching strategies. Support and mentor KS2 teachers, offering guidance on lesson planning, differentiation, assessment, and classroom management. Ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and develop a love for learning. Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed of their child's progress and to foster strong home-school partnerships. Contribute to the wider school development by playing an active role in school-wide initiatives and providing input into the school improvement plan. Lead on whole-school initiatives within KS2, bringing innovative ideas to life and ensuring effective implementation. KS2 Lead Teacher Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Proven experience teaching in KS2, with a track record of excellent outcomes for students. Previous leadership experience or a strong desire to take on a leadership role within the school. A solid understanding of the National Curriculum for KS2 and effective assessment methods. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues. A commitment to fostering an environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Proactive leadership and a desire to contribute to school-wide developments and improvements. Commitment to continuous professional development and the desire to be part of a forward-thinking team.
