DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Ops Account Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:
* The Account Manager is a critical part of both the day to day operation, and development of the account.
* Act as the main point of escalation dealing with service issues and problem solving, communicating at all times with the different responsibilities within the Account Manager's remit.
* Work with key stakeholders within the operation & at the customer to ensure high levels of customer service are delivered, a safe operation, providing consultation and proactive fleet management, adopting best practice.
* Understand customer requirements now & in the future to deliver tangible continuous improvement and innovation at all levels.
* Inspire the team to exceed expectations within the tasks they can influence - such as customer KPIs.
* Succeed by providing leadership, guidance, support, and collaboration.
* Coordinate and manage resources, processes, people, and project plans to achieve excellence.
* Work in collaboration with other colleagues to ensure that plans and actions are in place to meet KPIs, deliver customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and innovation for the future.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
* Experience in managing a Transport Sector.
* Must have a CPC qualification.
* Account reviews with the brands on a monthly and quarterly basis identifying service level improvements.
* Account Management ensuring clear and effective communication with the brands.
* Oversee all processes required to deliver the service and ensure processes and WI are maintained.
* Coordinate operational meetings to discuss departmental priorities and work together to deliver objectives.
* Add innovation and ongoing service improvements enhancing the services we offer to the customers.
* Regular visits/meetings to customers to see the brands.
* Work with finance to manage the debt position of the associated clients/brands and communicate with the client.
* Financial and commercial awareness managing the account activity in line with the contracts.
* Manage a team of 3 Ops Managers, Health & Safety and Compliance Manager.
* This role is a great road-to-GM role as it has responsibilities in all areas.
* You will be dealing with open book operations & maximizing management fee and closed book opportunities for additional EBIT.
* You will need to have Senior customer stakeholder relationship & strategy (you will be speaking daily to the customer Distribution Director).
* You will need to have H&S continuous improvement, contract renewal & growth, strategic action planning & delivering lasting benefits experience.
