Shift Pattern/Working Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 to 16:00
Yearly Salary: £39,745 - £40,745

The Role
The prime purpose of the Electrical Technician role is to support the continued effort of maximizing equipment uptime through a routine of planned preventative maintenance and assisting with breakdowns through hardware and PLC fault finding. Installation of electrical systems is also required, covering distribution and equipment to current legislations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Working with the Area Engineering Supervisors (AES) to maintain plant availability.
* Routine, planned, and reactive electrical maintenance.
* Follow up with AES and On Shift Engineers to ensure problems are corrected timely to prevent equipment failure.
* Support the days and shift-based Engineers during troubleshooting of equipment problems.
* Project work, improvements, and upgrades.
* Fault diagnostics and repairs to a wide range of electrical systems.
* Installation of electrical installations to current standards.
* PLC fault finding and programming.
* Promote team spirit and ensure good communication with everyone.
* Utilise SAP CCMS system for recording breakdowns and ordering spare parts.
* Perform duties in a manner that protects personal safety and the safety of all personnel on site.
* Participate actively in safety programs; promote safety rules and good housekeeping methods.
* Compliance with the Electricity at Work Act, PUWER, Machinery Directive regulations, and site policies on electrical working standards.
* Interpret and follow equipment technical manuals & wiring diagrams to aid fault finding and issue resolution.
* Create accurate wiring diagrams for new process electrical hardware designs and ensure on-shift teams have access to keep drawings updated.
Key Skills & Attributes required to succeed in the role:
* Knowledge of maintenance principles.
* Good organisational skills.
* Confident, logical, analytical, and innovative.
* Clear and concise communication skills.
* Interaction and support to site electrical team on plant electrical and controls maintenance activities.
* Ability to read and modify software on control systems such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, and PILZ safety systems is desirable.
Experience required:
* Apprentice trained and qualified to NVQ level 3 in electrical engineering or a Multi-skilled apprenticeship with strong electrical bias.
* 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
* HNC or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering preferred.
* Experience of working in an industrial, commercial environment.
* Knowledge of 3 Phase electrical power systems, motor control centres, and variable speed drives.
* Experience on 415v 3 phase supplies & drives, 240v single-phase supplies and equipment, and 24v DC control circuits.
* Programmable Logic Controllers knowledge is desirable; training will be provided.
