WHAT YOU WILL DO:
* Manage the shared inbox, allocating tasks, handling daily requests and new orders from internal teams, external clients and hauliers in a responsive manner.
* Identify and prioritize urgent shipments, ensuring efficient progression of all requests.
* Gather quotes from hauliers and carriers across road, air, and sea freight, particularly for time-sensitive jobs.
* Evaluate and select the most cost-effective carriers, considering transport availability and order requirements.
* Provide logistics support and collaborate with planners to choose the most efficient and appropriate transport options.
* Update internal trackers to log costs and selected carriers, ensuring alignment across teams.
* Process and cross-check carrier invoices against quoted rates, resolving any discrepancies.
* Drive cost-saving initiatives by negotiating better rates, optimizing routes, and enhancing transport efficiency.
* Attend meetings with hauliers, suppliers and stakeholders to discuss rates, service levels, and opportunities for cost reduction.
* Lead and contribute to cost-reduction projects, focusing on improving processes across road, air, and sea transport.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timely processing of requests and keep them informed on progress.
* Coordinate with 3PL providers for logistics within the UK and internationally for palletized goods.
* Ensure timely goods-in deliveries and research 3PL options to balance cost-effectiveness and delivery timelines.
* Support ADL 3PL operations from receipt through to dispatch in coordination with Planning and Stores teams.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
* We are seeking a candidate with experience in Supply Chain Logistics, 3PL Distribution, or a similar role. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail. Strong planning and organizational skills are essential, along with outstanding interpersonal abilities and a passion for delivering first-class customer service across road, air, and sea transport.
* You’ll be expected to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with both external customers and internal stakeholders at all levels, using email, phone, and face-to-face interactions. Proven experience in coordinating third-party logistics providers is essential, along with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
* Qualifications in logistics or transport (covering road, air, and sea) are highly desirable. If you're driven by efficiency and continuous improvement, this role offers a dynamic opportunity to apply your expertise in logistics.
