An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research & Development Team on a fixed-term basis as Principal Public Health Researcher. This post aims to facilitate public health research activity, delivery and capacity in one of the most deprived areas of Wales. The post holder will work with the Research & Development and Local Public Health Teams, as well as wider multi-disciplinary partners and organisations, to develop programmes of research that align with and contribute to the aims of the CTM 2030 strategy. This role will shape, implement and integrate research and evidence use into public health work within the health board.
The post will involve the planning, development and implementation of research projects, to include the submission of high quality grant applications, management of existing grant funded research projects and collaboration with UK-wide researchers to set-up, deliver and recruit to public health research studies as principal investigator. Under the leadership of a Consultant in Public Health and the Assistant Director of R&D, the post holder will work closely with key stakeholders locally and nationally and will take a strategic approach to advancing both capability for and specific programmes of population health research in Cwm Taf Morgannwg.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.
