Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing a variety of projects for our customers where we design, manufacture, and proof load test custom lifting equipment to be shipped to projects in the nuclear, renewables, oil and gas, and offshore industries, all over the world.
From 2000t + 36m spreader beams to complex lifting beams and solutions, you will run the project from start to finish ensuring our reputation as technical expert partners and brand leaders is always reflected in the finished project that leaves our factory and arrives on site, on time.
Candidate Requirements
1. Engineering/technical experience from within a production style environment is essential, ideally with at least 2-3 years of experience.
2. Experience in using an ERP / MRP System is essential.
3. Exceptional relationship management skills are required, as you will be liaising daily with customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
4. A strong eye for paying attention to detail with the ability to multitask while working on several projects.
5. A confident self-starter with the ability to prioritise and proactively manage their own workload to achieve project schedules.
6. Have an engineering background and be confident interpreting drawings, customer specifications, ordering materials, preparing project documentation, and using AutoCad software.
7. Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently and professionally communicate obstacles in order for the Project Management Team to overcome them.
8. Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and be physically able to cope with typical material inspection and handling duties which can include manual handling loads around 15 - 20kgs.
9. Experience in goods inward or material inspection would be highly advantageous.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Creating Parts & BOMS in the ERP system.
2. Purchasing materials and consumables.
3. Material inspection against engineering drawings.
4. Material marking for easy identification.
5. Preparation of all necessary project documentation for customer approval.
6. Liaising with, coordinating and managing third parties crucial to the project schedule.
7. Planning, coordinating, and carrying out Proof Load Testing of lifting products in accordance with test plans, method statements, and risk assessments, including the hire of necessary equipment.
8. Arranging the timely maintenance, inspection, and calibration of testing equipment.
9. Conducting quality inspections throughout the project lifespan and at project hold points.
10. Marking, tagging, stickering, and assembly of project lifting products.
11. Assisting in the packing of more complex project lifting products.
Role Specifics:
* Availability: We are recruiting 1 experienced Project Engineer.
* Location: Office Based - Holton Heath Trading Park, Poole.
* Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 Dependent on Experience.
* Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17:30. Friday 08:30 to 16:00 (total of 40 hours per week).
