Lab UK are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to both earn a salary and study towards a nationally recognised qualifications through our Level 3 Asbestos Analyst Apprenticeship. As a Trainee Asbestos Analyst, you'll receive comprehensive on-the-job training and guidance from our experienced analysts, and members of the team. Your journey begins with shadowing lead professionals and progresses through a structured training program. Whilst learning from experts, and using the company vehicle to travel across the UK, you will: Complete Leak testing of enclosures Take bulk samples Complete investigation of leak test failures Undertake personal monitoring of asbestos removal operatives to provide data for exposure assessments and planning any future works if required Undertake monitoring in enclosures Perform visual inspections of cleanliness of equipment leaving site Handle Client/Contractor liaison including with the LARC (licensed asbestos removal contractor) and any other key stakeholders Perform ongoing development of air testing strategies and interpretation of results as required Maintain a diary of work to provide written log of all activities undertaken on site Complete auditing of the works and site Complete background air monitoring prior to the start of asbestos works Undertake reassurance air monitoring following the completion of asbestos works Due to the field-based requirements in this position, you are required to hold a Full Driving License and be able to reliably commute to site within 45 minutes. About you This is a very hands on and practical role so you should be willing to get stuck in and learn from the offset We're looking for someone who is focussed and careful in all aspects of work. You'll be results oriented, and able to use good attention to detail to identify problems and record observations. The ability to think on your feet is crucial due to the environment and nature of the role - you will have good health and safety awareness and be able to work towards strict health and safety guidelines. We're seeking somebody who loves to be busy and enjoys the practical side of working. If you currently hold some experience of working with tools and technical equipment, this is the perfect opportunity for you It's crucial in this position that you're comfortable using a computer, and ideally have a good understanding of Excel. As you'll be working on different sites and meeting new people on a daily basis, it's important for you to be a confident communicator and a positive team player, with strong interpersonal skills (both written and verbal). To succeed in this apprenticeship, you'll need bags of enthusiasm, be a fantastic collaborator and be hungry to learn Please note, because of the site-based nature of this position, you must hold a valid UK Driving License and be willing to drive to different sites on a daily basis. Part of your role will also require occasional heavy lifting, and due to the nature of the position, you'll need to be 18. You'll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at LAB (UK) Ltd who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you'll need to succeed in your career. Being an apprentice is hands-on, so you'll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a university or college environment. The best part?
