Tax Collection Officers\n\nLocation: Exeter\n\nDate: 28/04/2025 to 30/06/2025\n\nShift Pattern/ Hours : Monday to Friday 09:00 AM TO 16:00 PM\n\nSalary: £13.69 per hour\n\nWhat you will be responsible for:\n\nMonitor accounts in arrears and initiate recovery actions as needed.\nAssess overall debt and agree on sustainable repayment plans.\nSupport customers in financial hardship by offering advice, conducting income/expenditure analysis, and identifying appropriate solutions.\nPrevent debt escalation through early-stage intervention.\nRefer complex or multi-debt cases to appropriate colleagues.\nDeliver customer support via phone, email, letter, and face-to-face interactions.\nLiaise with third-party representatives and update records accurately.\nRecommend cases for write-off when appropriate.\nHandle associated administrative tasks and maintain up-to-date records.\nProvide input on service improvements and support team performance.\nOffer guidance and support to colleagues as required.\nPerform any other duties relevant to the roleRequirements:\n\nIRRV Level 2 Diploma in Local Taxation, Benefits and Advice (QCF) or substantial proven equivalent experience\nAdequate current experience of working within a high pressure income recovery and customer focussed environment\nGood current knowledge of Academy Revs & Bens, Capita Housing, Ash, Paris, Access, RKYV Dip and Workflow systems, and associated modules\nA working knowledge of financial customer solutions available including payment arrangement, discretionary funding and write off with the ability to explore sustainable ways to maintain and maximise the councils income in a customer focussed way\nAn understanding of financial regulation and rules in relation to customer payments e.g. direct debit guaranteenPlease apply with your CV or contact Melissa +(phone number removed)\n\nCarbon60, Lorien & SRG - The Impellam Group STEM Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
