The Permanent Division of Robert Half is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on behalf of a Security Services business with offices in Luton.
The Role
As Assistant Accountant you will report to the Finance Manager and take responsibility for core transactional duties for the business including Payroll. Day to day duties will consist of:
* Preparing the monthly payroll file for the external payroll bureau to process the payroll
* Preparing the month end payroll journal and reconciliations
* Reconciliation of commission/bonus payments through Payroll for Sales staff
* Preparation of P11D statements
* Management of staff credit card and cash expenses from start to finish
* Assisting the Finance Manager with month-end preparation and reporting of the accounts
* Assisting with financial accounting duties including non-payroll journals, accruals, and prepayment schedule preparation and posting to ERP system
* Assisting Finance Manager with quarterly VAT computation
* Assisting with year-end audit preparation
* Assisting the Finance Manager with any ad hoc duties and projects
* Support the purchase ledger function
