About the Role Key details: Hours: Monday to Friday, shifts tbc, 35 hrs per week, Term-time only Wage: £6.40 per hour Location: Smedley Lane, Manchester, M8 8SA Apprenticeship Standard: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Duration: 16 months Overview of the role: Supervising class activities. Assisting with young people’s learning experience. Helping students who might need extra support. Learning classroom-based skills and behaviour techniques. Planning sessions and think about learning objectives. Working alongside the teacher to support classroom activities Key responsibilities: Raise standards of achievement for all pupils Encourage pupils to become more independent learners Provide support for their emotional, social, and physical welfare Support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life To work under the direction of the line manager, class teachers, and other staff to support the learning of whole classes, selected groups or individuals as instructed To study relevant qualifications while you earn Apprenticeship Summary: You will work towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification across a total duration of 16 months Training provider: LMP Group: https://lmp-group.co.uk/ All online/remote learning, no classroom or college day release An allocated tutor will support you throughout the apprenticeship About the Candidate Skills & Personal Qualities Required: Kind and caring Good use of initiative when issues arise Able to show a high level of responsibility On time punctual to the job or previous jobs Ability to communicate well with children Confidence in your own ability to want to learn and develop Enthusiastic and have an interest in working with children A team player Reliable, committed, and punctual attitude Professional, organised, and attention to detail Qualifications required: GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) essential GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) essential Apprenticeship Overview During this teaching assistant apprenticeship you will promote self-belief, social inclusion and high self-esteem which will play an integral part to pupils’ wellbeing. You will become an essential part in the learning environment for the classroom teacher and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing and safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum and expand their knowledge. TAs play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils. Your work can have a significant impact on the children's learning experiences, helping them to succeed academically and personally. Milestone 1.
