This role focuses on creating and maintaining technical documentation, including operator manuals for advanced technical equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as UKCA and international requirements.
You will be instrumental in consolidating technical files, liaising with third-party contractors, and supporting the certification process.
This is a critical position in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong organisational skills, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver high-quality documentation to support 24/7 operations.
Key Responsibilities: Consolidate and organise technical files to ensure compliance with UKCA and international standards.
Collaborate with engineering teams and third-party contractors to gather technical data and specifications.
Develop and maintain comprehensive operator manuals and technical documentation for complex equipment.
Liaise with certification bodies (e.g., ACAA) and support the certification process with Germany-based partners.
Ensure all documentation adheres to regulatory and compliance requirements for equipment requiring continuous operational support.
Manage updates and revisions to technical documents, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather and verify technical information.
Assist in audits and inspections by providing organized and compliant documentation.
Key Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a Technical Author, preferably within the engineering or technology sectors.
Familiarity with regulatory standards such as UKCA and ACAA.
Strong ability to consolidate technical files and create cohesive documentation.
Experience in developing operator manuals for technical or industrial equipment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Familiarity with certification processes and working with international partners.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Proficiency in standard documentation tools (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker, MS Word, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of renewables or similar technical equipment.
Experience with motorway infrastructure or 24/7 operational equipment.
