PS Recruitment is supporting our client in recruiting a Waking Night Support Worker for a 34-year-old gentleman with a traumatic brain injury. The individual is wheelchair-bound, has a PEG for medication, and communicates via Eyegaze. He lives independently in Widnes and requires assistance with daily living tasks, including personal care, mobility, and supporting his independence.
Support Duties Include:
1. Assist the gentleman with daily tasks in his home and community, promoting independence.
2. Ensure his needs, safety, rights, and interests are prioritized.
3. Follow the employment guidelines and assist with personal care using appropriate equipment.
4. Support his social, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
5. Help with domestic chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
6. Maintain accurate records and liaise with professionals and therapists.
7. Participate in reviews, training, and emergency coverage as needed.
8. Set a positive example and mentor new team members.
9. Report incidents promptly and perform other tasks as agreed.
Essential Requirements:
* Experience working with adults with complex needs for at least 6 months.
* Valid UK driving license and ability to drive.
Desirable Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 2 in Social Care or Care Certificate.
* Experience with brain injury clients (training provided).
* Interest or knowledge of football.
* Familiarity with communication aids.
* Competence in water-based therapy assistance.
