Chambers London Recruitment are pleased to be working with an award-winning, large multinational professional services company. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Financial Accountant to join their finance team and play a pivotal role in preparing external reports, managing month-end accounting processes, and handling debt and refinance transactions.
About the Role:
This position requires a proactive candidate with a strong background in technical accounting, compliance, and experience in engaging with external auditors.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare statutory accounts and investor reporting to ensure accurate and timely publication.
* Month-End Accounting: Perform month-end accounting and reporting for the holding company, ensuring all financial data is complete and accurate.
* Technical Accounting: Account for debt and refinance transactions and other technical accounting matters.
* Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Administer the balance sheet reconciliation control process, ensuring compliance across all finance areas.
* Audit Support: Support the external audit process by providing necessary audit evidence and responding to inquiries from auditors.
* Technical Assistance: Provide technical accounting assistance to the wider finance team and support various special accounting projects as required.
Qualifications:
Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent) 1-2 years pqe
Required Skills:
* Experience in technical accounting, with direct engagement with external auditors; experience within the big 4 desirable.
* Strong knowledge of current technical accounting principles and experience in the preparation of extended trial balances, financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), and subsidiary financial statements under FRS102.
* Proven ability to liaise effectively with external auditors and provide detailed information and explanations to support financial balances and transactions.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with a strong understanding of system and transaction processes.
Preferred Skills:
* Timely preparation of quarterly management reporting for business units.
* Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, including VAT returns and Companies House filings.
* Ability to provide high-quality, timely financial information to internal business units.
* Identify inefficiencies in processes and take action to improve financial reporting and accounting processes.
* Experience in managing the statutory audit and ensuring full compliance with SOX controls.
Pay range and compensation package:
Salary £60-65k+benefits
