Business Administration Apprenticeship The role will be based out of Farnborough but candidates will need to travel into the Thames Valley region from time to time. Administrators, sometimes known in construction settings as Document Control officers, need a broad range of skills to work efficiently and to help increase business productivity. The function is integral to any construction organisation as they process and manage various procedures, paperwork, communications, permits, orders, etc. For this Thames Water scheme, your duties typically include: · Using content management systems to maintain internal databases; · Organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information; · Devising and maintaining office systems; · Booking rooms, attending meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes; · Managing and maintaining budgets, as well as invoicing; · Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts; · Ordering and maintaining stationery and equipment; · Sorting and distributing incoming post and organising and sending outgoing post; · Photocopying and printing various documents, sometimes on behalf of other colleagues. · Organising & Delivering Site Inductions · Collecting and Storing Health & Safety documentation · Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases K10 are a disability confident employer, who are proud to support apprentices in the workplace and at college. Person Specification · A 'can do’ attitude - willing to get stuck in, take accountability for decisions and actions and who takes pride in their work · A love of variety in a role and ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced working environment · Ability to quickly prioritise tasks and the initiative to dive head-first into problem solving · No two days are the same on the front line and not every day goes to plan, so you’ll need to be quick on your feet to respond · Excellent communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working with multiple teams · Ability to analyse and interpret information and effectively communicate this to different team members and audiences · Ability to travel freely across our patch to visit different sites and travel to training days · Curiosity to learn quickly in a reactive and dynamic working environment. · Ability to work in all weather conditions to serve our customers and protect the environment · Able to understand and follow health and safety protocols Minimum Requirements English and Maths at GCSE Grade 3 or above, or Functional Skills at Level 1 or above. Must have a full UK drivers licence and access to a vehicle Must live within driving distance of Farnborough or the Thames Valley region (Area between Oxford and Reading) Desired Requirements It will be an advantage if you have some previous related work experience and you should be confident using ICT and Microsoft Office. Key Training/College Information K10 will enrol you to the Level 3 Business Administration course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider. The apprenticeship duration is 18 months.
