Job Description Day-Day Responsibilities: To assists with the planning of the curriculum. To help set up the preschool for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session. To act as a key worker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met. To contribute to the monitoring, recording and the assessment of the child’s progress through observation planning learning and development needs, questioning and against the child’s target and individual education plans. To advise the Team Leader of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and simulation. To attend staff meetings. To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required and to reflect and evaluate these to incorporate new knowledge into practice. To ensure confidentiality in regard to any information related to the children, their families or other staff. This is an essential part of the job role. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Team Leader/ Deputy Manager, in accordance with the preschool’s business plans and objectives. To assist with food preparation and serving snacks alongside promoting social interaction during snack times. To be aware and act on all Safeguarding policies and procedures of the nursery. To promote and support the seven areas of learning from the Early Years Foundation Stage underpin by the 4 principles. To contribute towards the development of the nursery’s policies, practices, activities and improvement plan.
