Finatal is working with an exciting private equity-backed energy company poised for its next phase of expansion. Our client is a dynamic portfolio business with a clear, strategic vision to scale and drive forward in its market. With ambitious plans for scaling operations, driving efficiencies, and maximizing value creation, they are seeking an exceptional Finance Director to lead their financial strategy and operations
Role Overview: As the Finance Director, you will be a pivotal part of the finance team, working closely with senior stakeholders, including the CFO and private equity partners. This position demands a hands-on leader who can elevate the finance function and align financial strategy with broader business goals.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement financial strategies to support short- and long-term business objectives.
· Oversee all financial operations, including forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and cash flow management.
· Lead the finance team to ensure robust financial controls and compliance.
· Provide actionable insights to the leadership team through data-driven analysis and financial modelling.
· Drive transformational initiatives, including systems enhancements and process optimization.
· Partner with private equity stakeholders, managing reporting, KPIs, and investor relations.
· Prepare the business for future transactions, such as refinancing, acquisitions, or an eventual exit.
Qualifications and Experience
· Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
· Extensive experience in a senior finance leadership role within the PE space.
· Previous experience in the energy sector is a must.
· Proven expertise in scaling finance functions and leading high-performance teams.
· Strong experience in private equity-backed businesses or M&A environments.
· Excellent commercial awareness, with the ability to influence decision-making at a senior level and drive business performance.
· Hands-on approach, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset.
· Excellent communication skills, able to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
· Experience in managing and developing a team, fostering a culture of high performance.
