Join our team as a Streetworks Support Officer to help reduce the delays and disruptions on Lancashire's roads. You'll play a crucial role in coordinating and managing works, events, and various activities on the highway network to ensure efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Streetworks Co-ordinators and Inspectors in their daily operations.
Ensure all administrative tasks comply with relevant legislation, including the Traffic Management Act, New Roads and Street Works Act, and the Lancashire Permit Scheme.
Respond to customer complaints, enquiries, and freedom of information requests.
Liaise with utility companies, contractors, developers, and event organisers to ensure compliance with highway regulations.
Address day-to-day issues and escalate them when necessary.
The post is a permanent full-time position (37 hours per week) based at our highway offices in Bamber Bridge, Preston. The team operates on a 5 over 7 working week, so working weekends on a rota basis is required. The working hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The role will cover the whole of the county.
Our ideal applicant will have:
Great organisational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in an office environment, using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ideally, you will have knowledge of Street Manager and associated interface solutions. These are not essential as training will be provided.
