BAM FM is recruiting a Facilities Manager for the management and co-ordination of all PFI FM services required by the contract which includes hard and soft services and building fabric. A “hands on” role the Facilities Manager will manage, develop and ensure cohesion of a small service delivery team based in the Derby Police Facility. You will be required to pass police vetting prior to start.
Your mission
• Manage and develop of the FM team to successfully achieve company, team and personal goals to achieve the service delivery requirements.
• Ensure the management of the services is carried out in accordance with:
• Contract specification.
• Good commercial, management and industry practices.
• Quality, environmental, safety and health management systems requirements.
• Appropriate statutory and other legislative requirements including applicable standards and codes of practice.
• BAM FM polices.
• Manage the M&E sub-contractors on site ensuring works are completed to the required standard while adopting safe working practices.
• Create and maintain effective team working relationships between BAM FM and client teams.
• Manage reactive and planned maintenance repair works in line with contracted key performance indicators.
• Carry out performance and condition surveys of plant and equipment.
• Upon completion of the condition surveys liaise with the lifecycle department in the preparation of on all elements of the lifecycle requirements at Derby Police Headquarters.
• Ensure that all facilities and services are made available within the requirements of the contract specifications.
• Ensure all services are operated in the most economical and efficient manner.
• Instigate and monitor BAM FM Health and Safety Procedures.
• Keep up to date records in accordance with legislative and BAM FM requirements.
• Co-ordinate activities where multiple trades are involved, including “permit to work”.
• Preparing monthly reports for the SPV and the client.
• Manage Authorised Persons (AP) duties and roles involving LV & Confined spaces control, review and issuing of permits.
• Prepare and instigate all procurement activities including obtaining sub-contractor quotes and the placing of both material and sub-contractor orders in conjunction with BAM FM commercial department.
• Develop business planning, ensuring the FM budgets are managed in strict accordance with the contract to achieve savings where possible.
• Support 1 in 4 call out rota.
Who are we looking for?
• 5 years' PFI experience as a Facilities Manager in Hard and Soft Services.
• PFI service management experience relevant to a working environment within the facilities management industry.
• Good leadership attributes complimented with the ability to communicate, organise, motivate, manage and develop staff.
• Will have suitable work experience of delivering a diverse portfolio of services utilising a combination of directly employed personnel and subcontracted service providers in a quality-focussed, environment subject to KPI performance monitoring procedures.
• Health & Safety certification (IOSH or NEBOSH essential or willingness to undertake).
• Competent knowledge of IT packages (Concept desirable).
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent people management skills.
• NPPV Level 2 vetting will be undertaken upon appointment.
