What you'll be doing:
Based within our Mechanical Solutions division, this role involves the operation and servicing of subsea cutting, dredging, and cleaning equipment. You will be based at our workshop in Thainstone where you will be responsible for the operating, servicing, maintaining, testing, and repairing high-quality tools and equipment.
Occasionally, you will travel to client locations to pre-mob or de-mob equipment and provide familiarisation training to 3rd parties. Additionally, other training activities may be part of the role.
Some of your other responsibilities will include;
* Safely operating all equipment at the worksite, adhering to Mechanical Solutions QHSE policies and procedures
* Identifying potential hazards at the worksite, considering the surroundings and the prevailing meteorological conditions, while liaising with QHSE to aid investigations and reporting of failures, NCRs and OFI's
* Communicating with the client's representative onshore regarding planning, organising, and executing tasks
* Participating in toolbox talks and pre/post-job review meetings, ensuring risk assessments are completed, reviewed, and that corrective actions resulting from NCRs and customer complaints are addressed and closed out
* Timely completion of all necessary documentation for work performed, including but not limited to maintenance reports, project reports, cutting logs, timesheets, expenses, customer satisfaction feedback, damage reports, and preventive actions
What experience you'll bring:
* HNC or above in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
* Proven experience in high-quality repairs, maintenance and testing in a workshop environment, as well as in subsea offshore/onshore operations, including IRM and decommissioning
* Prior experience operating subsea cutting, dredging, and cleaning tools, with a preference for abrasive experience
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* A team player with a hands-on approach and a willingness to contribute
