Personal assistant required for a sixteen-year-old autistic girl living in the Newquay area.
She currently experiences OCD, anxiety and panic attacks, and she is looking for someone with whom she can build a positive relationship and receive 1:1 support.
Initially, support will be provided in the family home, progressing to accessing suitable and safe activities within the community to develop her independency.
Other goals include practicing life skills such as cooking, using public transport and supporting her personal care routine.
She loves gaming, anime and cartoons. In the past, she has used drawing and reading to self-regulate and she is interested in resuming these activities.
The rate of pay starts at £12.00 per hour during an initial period of training and will increase for the right candidate, depending on their skills and experience.
Six hours per week are available, with flexible hours to accommodate the applicant's schedule.
Experience working with disabled young people is an advantage. Car driver essential and access to own vehicle is essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
