Job summary
The Dermatology Department at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton are seeking to recruit an experienced, highly organised support secretary to provide an efficient service to the Consultants, Nurses and the Medical secretary team.
This is a role based at Queens Hospital.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication and problem solving skills.
You will require a high level of tact, diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide administration support for the Secretarial/Administrative teams including filing, post distribution, diary management.
2. Collection and delivery of patient notes.
3. Liaising with other departments across the hospital.
4. Audio typing of clinical correspondence
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Knowledge and familiarisation of medical terminology
7. Excellent organisational and communication skills
8. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet and email systems
9. Supporting the secretarial team during absence and sickness.
