ABOUT THE ROLE:
As Maintenance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our production equipment and systems, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on a range of manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and assisting in the implementation of process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist production in achieving a high level of maintenance throughout the company via planning and control.
Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance work on machine tools, test equipment and buildings services as and when required.
Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and diagnose faults effectively to minimise downtime.
Specify and order maintenance equipment as requested in line with the Company’s Purchasing Procedure.
Controlling maintenance tools, stores, and critical spares equipment.
Work from engineering drawings and documentation or work instructions to the company and BS/EN/ISO9001:2000 standards, systems and procedures.
Assist in co-ordination planning and undertaking scheduled preventative maintenance programme in accordance with AVK UK Group requirements.
Work in conjunction with the Operation Manager to ensure minimal disruption to production.
Maintain breakdown records of all plant and equipment, including the shires system.
Make contribution towards improving the efficiency of the organisation.
Maintain a very high standard of workmanship and housekeeping.
Ensure you show regard for your fellow colleagues.
ABOUT YOU:
Previous experience working within in a similar role within a manufacturing matrix organisation.
Electrically qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ 2330 Level 3 or industry equivalent.
Degree within mechanical/manufacturing engineering subject preferable.
Capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures.
Business skills, for managing budgets, leading a team, and liaising with suppliers.
Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels to include senior stakeholders.
Excellent communication and solution orientated problem-solving ability.
Demonstrate attention to detail and observation.
Flexibility to adjust workload priorities to take account of new deadlines, flexible working hours available on-call to meet business needs.
Continuous Improvement Mindset.
IT fluency with MS Office software suite.
Independent worker with excellent planning and organising skills.
