We are looking to recruit an Employment Support Officer for our UK Shared Prosperity Funded project - Fresh Start. The project delivers high-quality person-centred employment support to young people aged 16-19 years, who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET). The successful applicant will have experience of working and engaging with young people to overcome barriers to work, training, or education, utilizing tools and working models, as well as having a good understanding of issues faced and the current climate. They will be able to facilitate good Employer Engagement and upskill individuals based on their needs using vocational profiling, action planning, etc.
An Employment Support Officer plays a vital role in empowering young people to achieve their full potential and secure sustainable and fulfilling employment or educational opportunities.
This role will cover the Northwich and Winsford area.
Key elements of the support you will provide include:
1. Vocational Profiling and identifying individual support interventions required, which will inform action planning.
2. Outlining choices for the future in relation to participation in short, medium, and long-term outcomes for employment.
3. Support with CV writing, job search, application forms, and interviews.
4. Delivering high-quality and impartial Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to ensure that customers are able to make informed decisions and are prepared for the next step in their lives.
5. Providing intensive support to help young people overcome additional challenges they may face moving towards work, including confidence building, social and employability skills, and other upskilling to ensure sustainability.
We are looking for skilled, proactive, and flexible individuals who will really make a difference to residents' lives, specializing in supporting either young people or adults' employment needs to enable progression in life. You will offer 1-2-1 support across the Cheshire West borough, with an element of travel across the borough at times, working in a variety of settings across the area when appropriate, with some home working. The ESO’s delivery model has been designed to work closely with local partners to access education and training as well as employment, collaborating with providers to deliver a personalized service to participants based on their individual needs.
The project will run until 31/03/2026.
