Randstad is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Officer who will have a sound
knowledge of the financial workings of a school including budget monitoring, accounting techniques and production of reports. The successful candidate will also be able to maintain accurate computer-based and paper-based information with speed and accuracy.
This is a full time position from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30pm, 35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
9. Dealing with financial correspondence and telephone queries
10. Prepare all financial returns (including bank reconciliation and VAT return) for the LA and DfE and any other central and local government agencies within statutory guidelines
11. Ensure all expenditure is correctly coded to ensure maximum use of all budgets and grants
12. Processing staff expenses and remittance reports in a timely manner
13. Maintain manual and computerised finance systems, reviewing and improving financial processes and procedures
14. Maintain an up to date and accurate list of suppliers, including company and payee names, address, telephone, fax and e-mail contact details
15. Liaise with suppliers regarding purchase orders including matters arising from deliveries, returns, delayed orders and invoice queries
16. To file paid computerised and manual invoices according to the office system for filed invoices
17. Maintain an up to date and accurate cashbook for the school's main current account
18. Acquire quotes and estimates as directed by the School Business Manager
Main skills to get clearance for this role:
19. Must have ACCESS Education Finance and Parent Pay Experience
20. Previous proven experience of working in a school environment
21. Experience of using Microsoft Packages
22. Experience of development, management and operation of Finance and Administrative management and systems
23. Eligible to work in the UK (Essential)
24. Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
25. 2 recent professional references
26. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
27. Punctuality and reliability are essential
