Operations Manager Job Description
Our client, a multisite Yorkshire based fast-paced manufacturing business, seeks to appoint an Operations Manager to act as the intermediary between the Senior Management team and the board. The appointed Operations Manager will have overall responsibility for production, design, quality, health and safety, engineering, and supply chain activities for a team of over 100. Role and Responsibilities
1. Deliver on the operational KPIs for the site whilst simultaneously further developing a culture of continuous improvement.
2. Lead senior colleagues in manufacturing and engineering to contribute effectively to the growth strategy of the business.
3. Deliver on long term strategic vision of the company and implement cultural change.
4. Maintain a flexible attitude on a day-to-day basis. Be firm and persistent when expressing views but a good listener, comfortable changing course if given compelling reasons.
Skills and Abilities
1. Of degree calibre with well-evidenced leadership and coaching abilities.
2. Formal Lean and Continuous Improvement training. Track record of lean implementation and development of a culture of continuous improvement.
3. Prior experience working for a manufacturer in a senior management post.
4. Gravitas to lead a large team. Comfortable from shop floor to board room.
5. Relationship builder able to increase cooperation across departments.
