Venatu Recruitment are proud to announce that a Global Leading Client of ours within the Aerospace industry is looking to join them at their Birmingham site! The client is an extremely well-established, global leader with turnover approaching a billion pounds annually and trading in 40 countries. They are a business involved in multiple sectors and have an opportunity to join their team in Birmingham. Due to the busy nature and continued growth they've consistently seen year on year, they're now looking for an Electrical Biased Maintenance Engineer to join them!
This role is paying up to £50,000 per annum on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern!
Main Duties:
* Provide a high standard of multi-skilled engineering support whilst working safely either independently or as part of a team.
* Diagnose faults or points of failure, repair equipment to ensure safe operation, correct function, reliability, and equipment availability.
* Engineer out equipment failures through continuous improvement.
* Plan, coordinate, and execute installation and plant improvement projects, act on follow-up repairs, source spares, and complete and file documentation to audit standard.
* To be able to communicate with suppliers and chase outstanding orders.
* Provide shift, factory start-up/shutdown cover as and when required.
* Report equipment issues, follow up works & spares requirements to the Shift Plant Engineer and report in the shift report.
The type of candidate they're looking for has:
* BTec or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Would accept ONC/OND or time-served apprentice with experience gained hands-on.
* Experience of heavy motorised and hydraulic plant.
* Rubber and plastics industry experience with rolling mills/extrusion/moulding/press shop.
* Experience of steam generation, boiler house operation, and high-pressure fluid systems - Desirable NOT Essential.
* Mechanical and Electrical experience, ability to identify, safely isolate and work on equipment that have multiple sources of energy: Electricity, steam, hydraulics, pneumatics, large motors (1000HP or greater).
* Experience with a CMMS system and reporting.
* Ability to weld (MIG, MMA) / fabrication skills.
