Engineering Manager - Power Electronics Design

This role will require experience of:
1. Technical leadership / mentoring
2. Designing HV power electronics for e-mobility applications (land, sea or air)
3. Customer facing and customer project leading
The position may suit a chief engineer, engineering manager or technical specialist with excellent HV power electronics design experience (past or present) but your experience must align to the above requirements. As a chief engineer, you will lead multidisciplined engineering teams to innovate and deliver validated products for key customer e-mobility projects.
E-mobility experience: (electric vehicles, etc)
This company is a consultancy within the e-mobility sector. Experience of designing HV power electronics for e-mobility applications is essential (e.g. automotive electric vehicles, electric propulsion systems for aircraft/marine craft, etc).
Required experience / skills:
1. Excellent academic background (degree/master’s degree in electrical, electronic engineering, etc)
2. Strong communication skills with experience working directly with customers.
3. Experience of leading complex technical projects and cross-functional teams (e.g. power electronics, control software, motor design)
4. Experience of designing HV power electronics for e-mobility systems (concept, schematic capture, development and validation)
5. Excellent track record in the design of HV power electronics (power inverters, variable speed drives, DC-AC traction motors, PMSM control, DC-DC converters, OBC, automotive EDUs) within automotive, aerospace, off-highway, marine, renewable energy or defence markets
6. Proven skills in the design of high power/voltage systems (e.g. 800V and 200kW inverters)
7. Experience of providing support to commercial/technical bids would be very useful
Working in a very customer-centric organisation, you will be responsible for developing power electronics design architectures for automotive electric vehicle/e-mobility applications; technical leadership of a team and complex projects, and driving new business initiatives and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
This role could suit a chief engineer, engineering manager or technical specialist with excellent HV power electronics design experience and technical leadership.
This Engineering Manager - Power Electronics Design role is based onsite (hybrid working is OK) and is commutable from Birmingham, Redditch, Solihull, Nuneaton, Hinckley, Leamington Spa, Banbury, Daventry, Rugby, Coventry and Lutterworth.
