Marshall Fleet Solutions are currently looking for an additional Business Development Manager to bolster their team, establish and build sustainable working relationships with customers in order to develop the MFS Fleet Management portfolio. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To develop business opportunities by identifying prospects, establishing appropriate contacts to understand their operational needs, leading to submission of proposals and securing the provision of contractual Fleet Management services. What we can offer you 25 days holiday increasing with service Pension contributions up to 6% Extensive flexible benefit program Life assurance at 2x basic salary Paid volunteering leave Access to industry leading wellbeing resources and tools ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Actively seek out new sales opportunities through direct enquiries, cold calling, networking, tender publication, social media or recommendation Build and develop relationships with new and existing customers to identify and secure Fleet Management business Be able to confidently sell all aspects of the MFS Fleet Management portfolio and identify prospective additional service offerings Follow up on leads from other areas of the business, including engineers with the emphasis on turning those leads into successful business opportunities, and feedback accordingly. Utilise knowledge and experience to understand the needs of the customer, produce commercial proposals to secure contractual Fleet Management business Have a broad understanding of MFS business products and services Keep accurate records of activities Essential Criteria Business Development and Customer Management experience in a service centric environment. An understanding of fleet management and contract maintenance, ideally involving commercial vehicles Educated to at least GCSE standard with a good command of the English language Excellent literacy and numeracy skills suitable for compiling presentations, proposals, tender submissions and business cases A full UK driving license with no more than 3 penalty points The mobility to be able to travel around the UK and Ireland as the company requires You should have at least 3 years in a fast-paced sales or customer facing environment where you have been able to build relationships with demanding customers. Understand the Temperature Controlled logistics landscape and the operational types of vehicles that we service and repair. Socially adept Strong communication skills, both verbal and written form Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Skills in prioritising obligations with the customer Attention to detail Excellent time management and organisation Ability to self-motivate and work independently Desirable criteria Experience across both LCV and HGV fleet sectors Resilience Competent on Microsoft products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
