A Snapshot of Your Day
Working within the Siemens Energy UK regional technical support team, as a technical support engineer, you will take ownership for the investigation and resolution of emergent customer issues relating to gas turbine operation. You will be required to support projects for the development and implementation of long-term solutions and provide assistance with planning and spares for breakdowns and planned outages.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Take ownership for the technical matters relating to the support of the customer equipment you are assigned to, including scheduled and un-scheduled activities and issues.
2. Work closely with our customers and liaise with colleagues at other sites to resolve customer issues, tracking and delivering technical solutions.
3. Investigate and resolve technical issues in a timely yet safe manner, supporting the return to service of critical infrastructure equipment.
4. Engage with a range of functions across the business to deliver excellent support to customers.
5. Identify opportunities for business development with customers and provide technical leadership on such matters.
6. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support, including customer site visits to assist with trouble shooting and site surveys.
7. Proactively engage with customers to identify opportunities to improve equipment operation and suggest upgrades.
What You Bring
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the gas turbine industry.
2. Strong knowledge in the operation and service of gas turbines, specifically the Siemens Energy SGT and/or AGT product lines.
3. Experience with control systems relevant to SGT and/or AGT product lines (SGT PCS7, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, AGT FT125, etc).
4. Familiarity with a range of problem-solving techniques, both theoretical and practical.
5. Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced customer-facing situations, with the ability to deliver creative, robust, safe solutions.
6. Flexible and able to connect with others, contributing positive ideas to the team.
7. Ability to manage your own time and adapt to change.
8. Strong communication and reporting skills in English, with an appreciation for cultural differences associated with a global customer base.

Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. We focus on zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, including steam turbines and generators.
