Finance Manager Role
After a restructuring of duties within the G’s Fresh finance team, we have an exciting opportunity for a new Finance Manager role responsible for the Mushrooms, Customs, and transport pillar financials.
The purpose of the role is to partner departmental management by providing accurate and timely financial data, analysis, and interpretation, which drives best-in-class decision making and optimizes business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be a leader for your team and your business unit, developing a high-performing team.
* Budgets/forecasts and longer-term scenario planning to optimize performance, protect from threats, and advise management on how to maximize opportunity.
* Ensuring costings are accurate but challenging for the operation and ensure the Commercial teams are fully equipped with the correct information for negotiation, whilst maintaining tight governance over decision making to preserve and protect margin.
* Use data and analysis to drive improvement through the operation and/or commercial space. Identify specific areas of under-performance/opportunity and bring them to life for management to act upon.
* Always maintain full control over balance sheet risk/opportunity, ensuring the position is understood by management and acted upon accordingly. Identify and act on process weaknesses to ensure visibility and control are maintained.
* Lead the production of accurate and timely daily, weekly, and periodic financial information, ensuring it is informative and understood by the organization and drives actions and decisions in the best interest of the business.
Candidate requirements:
* You will be an experienced accountant with strong data and analytic skills.
* Communication and an ability to influence are key to being successful in the role, with an ability to build trust with all stakeholders through credibility and challenge.
* A good understanding of retail product costings and product margins would be advantageous.
* Experience of managing a team is desirable.
