Band 6 Specialist Recovery Practitioner/ Key Worker - Thornbury
The South Glos Recovery Team North Stream are looking for a Specialist Recovery Practitioner to join our supportive and friendly team. The team is based in Thornbury with a geographical area covering South Glos area, including Yate, Patchway and other suburban areas. This is a wide geographical area with limited access to public transport.
There is the opportunity to develop your skills with new training in Structured Clinical Management and Standard Care and Discharge packages being rolled out across the South Glos Recovery teams with a very good supervision program in place to support staff. We are increasing our therapeutic offer to service users and welcome applicants who are keen to develop their skills in this area.
The role entails Key Workers a caseload of service users under secondary mental health services and the coordination and delivery of evidenced based interventions. This includes commissioning packages under the care act.

This post is open to newly qualified social workers. In line with AWP trust policy, all newly qualified social workers (NQSW) will be recruited initially at Band 5 level, regardless of advertised role banding. All NQSW's are expected to successfully complete their ASYE within 2 years of employment, unless there are exceptional circumstances in which case it may be extended for a further 2 years.
If you have been appointed to an advertised Band 6 role this will be an automatic progression, following confirmation of your successful ASYE completion. If you have been appointed to a Band 5 post you will then be eligible to apply for a subsequent Band 6 vacancy upon successful ASYE completion.

Job responsibilities
1. To undertake the full range of activities required to deliver ongoing comprehensive mental health assessment for service users with severe and enduring mental health needs living in the community and in a range of settings.
2. To be responsible for developing, delivering and reviewing comprehensive and complex treatment programmes using appropriate frameworks in line with evidence-based practice.
3. To act as care coordinator for service users with the most complex needs, also providing defined interventions to individuals on other workers' caseloads.
4. To plan, deliver and evaluate defined, specialist therapeutic interventions as indicated in the assessment process.
5. To develop and maintain good partnership working with other services throughout all treatment episodes.
6. To personally build and lead others to build, hope inspiring relationships with service users.
7. To be responsible for maintaining own workload, as well as planning the workload of others, on a day-to-day basis.
8. To be responsible for the protection of individuals from abuse and harm in line with local safeguarding policies and procedures.
9. To undertake active clinical leadership and supervision within the team.
10. To participate in management, caseload and clinical supervision in accordance with trust policy.
11. To provide mentoring/training for others in relevant practice areas.
12. To monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others.
13. To participate in on-call rotas as required.
14. To participate in local arrangements in order to ensure consistent care to service users across the local geography.
Person Specification
Evidence of experience
* Qualification to a relevant professional body (NMC, HCPC or Social Work England).
* Mental health experience in any setting.
* Additional Therapy Qualification such as SCM, CBT, CBTp.
* Student mentoring experience.
* Experience in Recovery Team.
