Transforming the lives of young people with The Lily Housing Project: Join Us as a Senior Support Worker Job Type: Full-time 33hrs, Permanent Salary: 39-hour contract: £28,597.40 - £29,767.40 (including sleep-in rate) Sleep-in rate: £55.00 (average of 1.4 sleep-ins per week) (Salary scales are dependent on qualifications and previous experience) Welcome Bonus of up to £1,500 (T&Cs apply) The Role: Senior Support Worker In this role you will form part of the team working in our projects across Weymouth, Dorchester & Ferndown. We provide our young residents with a space to grow with confidence, enhance their self-esteem and develop the life skills required to live independently. A Senior Support Worker will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day running of projects. The role will be responsible for ensuring all current and newly referred residents receive high-quality, person-centred support promoting independence and emotional health and wellbeing. To ensure the Senior Support Worker has the opportunity to establish and maintain direct contact and involvement with those we support, a main part of the role will be direct support with residents following the Steps To Independence support planning process. A Senior Support Worker ensures consistency in service and provides a homely environment for young people aged between 16 – 21 years old to live in, however, it is imperative that all staff are involved at all levels encouraging a strong team mindset. Senior Support Workers must be diverse and flexible in their roles and will be expected to be involved in all levels of support across the service. As a Senior Support Worker, you will: Ensure property maintenance and building safety is maintained to a high standard, working in partnership with the company Service Environmental Officer. Lead the team in preparing and maintaining up-to-date individual support plans, recording safeguarding monitoring and actions, risk assessments, alongside coordinating the provision of high-quality, individualised support to vulnerable residents. Establish and maintain good joint working practices with relevant key stakeholders to ensure rent management is maximized. Ensure important appointments are kept across the service and utilize staffing resources effectively. Run daily morning meetings to organize daily responsibilities and manage staffing resources for the day. Check rotas and calendars for projects, ensuring effective support of the residents. Maintain accurate records of support provision and risks. Monitor service systems according to policy and procedure (e.g., fire checks, visitor records, welfare checks). Oversee the correct use and recording of petty cash. Ensure the safety and security of buildings, securing offices and entrances at the end of the day. Monitor on-call activities, communicating with out-of-hours staff for updates. Conduct regular checks throughout the day and maintain open communication with team members to promote morale. Encourage engagement with residents, avoiding an institutional environment. Ensure the team offers weekly life skills programs to residents. Play a key role in the move-on of residents across services. Keep projects clean and tidy, ideally with resident involvement. About You: Passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives. Experience in dealing with challenging situations and maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. Strong communication skills. Experience in a senior support worker role and working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is preferred. A driving license is required.
