About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Radiological Protection Manager to join our Defence & Asset Solutions (D&AS) Enterprise Asset solutions (EAS) business area, reporting into the NNEP ESH Manager. The role will be based at our client's site with home based working available on a weekly basis, so location is very flexible. The successful candidate will become part of a respected and ambitious team who offer support to a variety of different projects.
1. Managing classified workers, their approved dosimetry and training.
2. Managing the radiological safety training, theory and practical (all levels, basic to in depth courses including one to one).
3. Ensuring compliance with the ionising radiation regulations 2017.
4. Managing resources, equipment and personnel for work with ionising radiation.
5. Frequent engagement with the client and relevant stakeholders about the radiological work within the framework looking to increase growth of the function.
6. Working closely with project managers.
7. Produce and follow project specific schedules for work in radiological areas.
8. Practical on-site work.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
1. City and Guides Stage 1 Radiological Safety.
2. Degree or equivalent in Radiation safety practices.
3. NVQ in Construction level 3 and above.
4. IOSH Managing Safety.
5. CSCS card.
6. 5+ years' experience working on Nuclear Licensed sites in a radiological safety role is essential.
7. 5+ years' experience on construction sites is desirable.
Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The security clearance process may require non-British nationals or dual nationals (i.e. those with British and another nationality) to be subject to additional evaluation, depending on nationalities held and the nature of the work to be carried out.
