They urgently need to fill this new vacancy for Sheet Metal Workers within their engineering department. (Note: These are shift roles 6-2 & 2-10 or earlies or lates, with an early Friday finish and no weekends.)
Role Profile
The Sheet Metal Workers will primarily be responsible for fabricating, fitting, maintaining, and repairing precision components. They need to be hands-on, efficient, and work to high-quality standards, supporting other key business areas across the site.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Carry out fabrication work to pre-scripted engineering standards in line with sheet metal processes.
2. Understand, interpret, and work to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
3. Use measuring equipment and inspection fixtures to ensure component conformity to drawing requirements.
4. General maintenance of machinery, jigs, and fixtures to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy working environment.
5. Set up and operate fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
6. Check parts for accurate measurements and finish pieces where necessary.
7. Share knowledge and experience, supporting coaching and mentoring of new employees and apprentices.
8. Support and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives across Shop Operations (e.g., Yellow Belt LEAN Manufacturing, 6S initiatives, cost reductions, housekeeping).
9. Carry out any other duties necessary to meet departmental objectives.
What the Client Offers
The client offers a salary between £36,550 - £37,000, an excellent pension scheme, and a full company benefits package.
