Were now recruiting a new position for a Head of D2C UX. You will lead and manage the user experience strategy and UX team for AJ Bell’s Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) investment platform, overseeing strategy, design and proposition developments to help deliver the company’s growth goals.
This role is based in our London office and is pivotal in ensuring we deliver exceptional customer experiences while achieving our commercial objectives.
It requires an experienced and visionary leader with a passion for devising creative solutions to customer problems, who possesses comprehensive UX leadership skills, business acumen, and the ability to help foster a user-centered culture within the overall D2C product team.
Key responsibilities:
UX leadership:
* Lead and inspire a diverse UX team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and professional growth to deliver high-quality UX designs and solutions.
* Help develop and implement a cohesive UX strategy that helps meet overall business goals.
* Oversee the UX department, including resource planning and performance evaluation.
* Align the UX vision with the broader business objectives, understanding business goals, market trends, and organisational strategy.
* Ensure that UX is integrated at every stage of the product development process, from ideation to launch and beyond.
* Liaise with UX Research team to gain insights into customer needs, behaviours and pain points.
* Utilise data-driven insights to inform design decisions and optimise the user experience.
* Work with product and engineering to balance innovation, scalability, and technical feasibility delivering to required timelines.
* Support and enable the business to achieve its regulatory requirements and ensure the D2C proposition is developed to provide good customer outcomes and meet the requirements of the Consumer Duty.
Building and maintaining UX culture:
* Help to foster a strong culture of user-centered design throughout the organisation.
* Encourage continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the UX function.
* Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, incorporating new ideas and technologies into the UX strategy.
Performance measurement and optimisation:
* Define and track key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of UX initiatives.
* Continuously analyse customer feedback and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive iterative UX enhancements.
* Leverage techniques such as A/B testing and multivariate testing to evaluate different design solutions and refine user interface elements.
Cross-functional collaboration:
* Build relationships and work closely with various departments such as product management, engineering, customer services, marketing, and brand to ensure a cohesive and seamless user experience.
* Collaborate with executives across functions to ensure a unified and user-centric approach to product design and development, from concept to launch and beyond.
* Recruit, develop, and retain top UX talent, creating a diverse and high-performing design team.
* Provide guidance, support, and development opportunities to senior design leaders.
* Foster team spirit and knowledge sharing across product-aligned UX teams to ensure the exchange of innovative ideas and practices.
About you:
Were looking for proven experience in a senior UX leadership role, managing large and diverse design teams, with a focus on direct-to-consumer digital products, ideally mobile/app focused.
* Deep understanding of customer needs and a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.
* Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for staying ahead of industry trends. Experience with a variety of design tools, including Figma.
* Strong understanding of business commercial goals, market trends, and organisational strategy.
* Proven experience of UX psychology and laws and a deep understanding of human-centered design.
* In-depth knowledge of the complete product lifecycle and experience managing large-scale design initiatives.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to advocate for UX at the executive level.
* Experience in budgeting and resource planning.
* Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience working with various departments.
* Proven ability to build and maintain a strong UX culture within an organisation.
* Knowledge of regulatory and ethical standards related to design, including accessibility and privacy.
