We are looking to recruit a team of Student Achievement Advisors to join the West Herts College Group for the new academic year.
The Student Achievement team will provide a range of support for students including those who may have a learning need/disability, with academic and study skills support. You will lead a small group and one to one interventions with students including those who need additional Literacy, ESOL or Numeracy support, to enable them to access the educational opportunities offered by the College and achieve their potential.
Educated to at least Level 3, with GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths the successful candidates will be required to deliver subject specific academic support and intervention in range of vocational and occupational subject areas including English and Maths, inspiring motivating, and engaging students in their learning. You will monitor students’ progress against agreed targets using appropriate assessment tools, supporting them to plan and complete assessments ensuring students are prepared for their exams.
You must be able to work well within a team and cross college departments and have the aptitude to work independently, when required. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of students as well as their parents/carers. A pro-active and resourceful, learner-focused approached is required as you will be involved in creating individual support plans, working collaboratively with curriculum-based colleagues.
