This post will be based within the Universities Estates & Facilities department and will offer a new and exciting Clerk of Works opportunity. The University is at an important stage in its significant campus development and a new City Campus coming online from September 2024, there is a wide range of exciting projects and activities associated with this role.
Working as part of a team providing professional services you will take the lead in the management of assessment of all construction works of all small, medium, and large construction projects, ensuring that all works will be fit of purpose and deliver the best student and staff experience. In addition to this, you will be expected you will lead assessment of all reactive and planned works linked to laten defect and support construction development projects that underpin the masterplan, that will be pivotal to the overall growth of the University and enhancements of students and staff experience. This role will play a vital part in all the campus construction development; therefore the, we are seeking an accomplished pro-active forward thinking innovative professional Clerk of Works with a proven track record in managing of construction based assessment of quality of works, materials and workmanship assessed again approved design and industry standards and approved codes of practice, providing detailed reports and updates to a multitude of key stakeholders in accordance with the needs of the University development programme to ensure the best possible experience for staff and students. The post holder will be primarily responsible providing a Clerk of Works (Construction) service across the full range of work undertaken by Leeds Trinity University on all locations to inspect the workmanship, quality, and safety of work on all construction sites. in line with agreed, designs ensuring that work is being carried out to the correct specifications.
Duties will include, but shall not be limited to:
1. Lead on and be responsible for oversite Clerk of Works (Construction) responsibility for all small medium, large and long-term works on both campuses.
2. Lead and responsible for developing, detailed reports on progress, and quality of workmanship.
3. Lead and be responsible for undertaking onsite audits and ensure any issues are rectified.
4. Responsible for preparing and present complex and technical statistical analyses, reports, and surveys related to Clerk of works (construction) deliverables.
5. Responsible for ensuring that any deviation of agreed design, plans, materials and or specification are approved and meet the required standards.
Candidates should possess the relevant qualification/experience and meet all the essential criteria, along with membership of relevant institutions in a property/built construction environment related discipline. Experience of working within a large professional estates and property team key professional consultants and contractors, delivering the full breadth of Clerk of Works deliverables along with the proven ability to specify, manage and administrate small to large scale development projects from a Clerk of Works perspective. Experience of the Higher and Further Education sector would be advantageous.
