TQR are excited to be working with a Children’s home in Newton Abbot, overseeing the recruitment for their Registered Manager role. Our client offers homes for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties from the ages of 7-18 years old. The client provides small homes for either one or two young people helping to provide intensive and individualised care. They focus on providing young people with nurture, structure, routine and consistently with a therapeutic approach to behaviour management. The successful candidate will need top be approved by the appropriate statutory body. This will require full OFSTED registration in accordance with their respective conditions and timescales. Key Responsibilities: Able to work flexibly to meet the needs of young people and service users. Ability to create detailed and high-quality care plans and ensure the team works consistently in line with them. To have resilience and self esteem and be able to be working with challenging behaviours. Excellent communications and relationship building skills. Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly. Acting as a positive role model for young people and other staff members. Able to understand and work within the home’s budgets. Developing and maintaining effective relationships with the young people’s local authorities. Ability to provide high quality supervision, performance management, mentoring and support to your staffing team. Good promotion of One to One Crisis Intervention’s reputation and brand. To ensure that children and young people receive a high standard of physical and emotional care which enriches their lives. To ensure that care is provided within an environment, which positively integrates race, gender, disability and sexual orientation and meets individual needs. Each child and young person must have a written individual placement plan which is implemented and revised as necessary. Children and young people are involved fully as soon s possible in decisions affecting them and the running of the home. To ensure that health and safety at work, One to One’s policy, and other relevant workplace legislation is implemented and adhered to. To be knowledgeable of, and work within the framework of the relevant legislative requirements and ensure all care staff involved with the young person are fully aware of relevant legal issues. To ensure that senior management are informed on important matters relating to the running of the home and the children and young people cared for. To set, monitor and evaluate standards within the home to meet company requirements and to meet the highest standards to obtain and maintain an Outstanding Ofsted rating. To keep under review the developmental needs of staff, to keep informed of current issues and be alert to the organisations training programme and policies. What’s in it for you? Company events. Requirements: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or The Registered Managers Award an NVQ Level 4 in Care. (Essential) Excellent understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations. (Essential) Register with Ofsted. This role is for a single occupancy home, 42 hours a week and requires 2 sleep ins, this is flexible, and the client is open to making an arrangement suitable for both. A full DBS disclosure will be conducted.
