The Data Engineering Manager joins Corporate Data, reporting into the Director of Data.
What you will be doing:
You will manage a small team of data engineers who are responsible for designing, building and maintaining the infrastructure and systems that collect, store and process corporate data for reporting and analysis. In this role you will act as a "player-manager", the role is ideal for someone who has previously managed a team, still keen to be in a hands-on role.
Our data infrastructure is built around the Microsoft Fabric and Synapse analytics platform so experience in these areas is key to success.
Stakeholders include:
* Data and Systems owners to understand data, applications and infrastructure.
* Data Analysts to understand current and future data use cases.
* Data Architect to ensure data models are relevant and used appropriately.
* Infrastructure Architects to ensure secure, scalable and cost-efficient architecture.
* Suppliers, including ingestion from 3rd parties and outsourced data science projects.
Data Domains Include:
* Order to Cash
* CRM
* Supply Chain
* Network Operator Footprint
* Network build and GIS
* Demographic and Competitor
* Network Operations (Historic and Realtime)
* SHEQ
About you:
You will be a player manager, able to manage and coach a team whilst actively supporting the development for a data engineering platform that can meet the needs of our growing business.
The role requires excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. In addition, we require you to have expert knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Synapse analytics platform.
