Job Description:
We are looking for a creative and motivated WordPress Graphic Designer to join our team in Worcester, UK. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and a foundational understanding of WordPress.
This role is perfect for someone seeking to expand their expertise in both web and graphic design in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be involved in building custom WordPress websites for our customers, ensuring a tailored, user-friendly experience. Additionally, they will assist customers with design enhancements, offering creative solutions to improve aesthetics and functionality.
Key responsibilities:
15. Website Design & Development: Design, build, and maintain responsive WordPress websites, ensuring a modern, user-friendly experience tailored to customer needs. Assist with the customisation of WordPress themes and templates.
16. Customer Collaboration: Work directly with customers to understand their requirements, offering design assistance and creative solutions to enhance their websites' aesthetics and functionality.
17. Graphic Design: Create visually compelling digital assets, including website banners, social media graphics, and promotional materials, while adhering to brand guidelines.
18. Content Optimisation: Optimise images and digital media for optimal web performance, ensuring fast load times and responsiveness across devices.
19. Collaboration: Work closely with designers, content writers, and contact centre teams to deliver cohesive digital solutions that enhance user engagement and brand visibility.
20. Brand Consistency: Maintain and enforce brand standards across web and digital media, ensuring design alignment with overall marketing strategies.
21. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve design-related issues on WordPress websites, improving functionality and user experience.
22. Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging design trends, WordPress developments, and digital design tools to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the team.
Essential Experience & Skills:
23. 1-2 years of professional experience in graphic and web design, with a focus on WordPress-based projects.
24. Design Proficiency.
25. Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD).
26. Experience in designing for responsive and mobile-first websites.
27. Strong understanding of modern design principles, including typography, colour theory, and layout techniques.
28. Familiarity with WordPress CMS, including the use of themes, plugins, and page builders like Elementor or Divi.
29. Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for minor website customisation and styling.
30. Meticulous approach to design, ensuring that all work meets high standards of quality and precision.
Desirable Qualifications:
31. Familiarity with SEO best practices and basic web performance optimisation techniques.
32. Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles and accessibility standards.
33. Eagerness to take initiative, solve problems, and contribute new ideas to enhance team performance.
34. Bachelors degree in graphic design, Web Design, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Working hours:
Normal hours are, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5:30 pm.
Training:
You will be given complete training and support from our office in Worcester.
