As a Process Engineering Apprentice, you will be designing, commissioning, and optimising site utility & infrastructure assets as well as pilot plants and bespoke process development equipment, spanning multiple Business Units across Teesside and 3rd party sites.
You will be granted day release to attend your course at Teesside University.
Your purpose will be to execute and lead process engineering design activities, following JM standards and procedures to schedule and budget as advised by the Project Manager, to deliver the capital programme for our Teesside businesses and improve operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities:
* Execute and lead process engineering design activities, following JM standards and procedures.
* Develop process engineering designs, including pressure relief systems, heat and mass balances, process specifications, P&ID development and process safety design.
* Complete process engineering calculations.
* Participate in process hazard assessments and other technical risk assessments (including Hazard Studies, LoPA & Area Classification).
* Provide process engineering support for site infrastructure (including gas storage & distribution systems, steam systems, natural gas purification, chemical disposal systems and a compressor house) as well as pilot plants and bespoke process development equipment.
* Collaborate with & give quality technical advice to internal customers such as our site operations team and R&D teams.
Requirements for the role:
* 96-112 UCAS points including maths from any combination of acceptable level 3 qualifications (entry requirement for Teesside University Chemical Engineering BEng).
* Strong communicator and a team player, comfortable interacting with & leading many different stakeholders.
* Stringent attitude to working safely and maintaining high standards.
* Delivery-focused to business-critical timescales and able to work under pressure.
