Job Title: COSHH Assessor Grade: Fixed term contract (12 months)
Qualifications:
*≥ 2 years' experience in undertaking COSHH assessments in a high hazard environment.
*Knowledge of industrial Chemistry ideally including that of electroplating
*Able to pick up and use bespoke IT system for the assessment of the chemical approvals.
*CRB authorisation.
Responsible to: The Health, Safety & Environment Manager.
Hours of work: Full-time, 08:00- 16:30 Mon-Thrs 08:00-12:30 Fri.
Working Relationships:
The post holder is required to:
*Support the HS&E Department with the creation and recording of COSHH
*Work with the Departmental Managers/Team leaders and the Safety Reps in the departments to identify and complete assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The post holder will be required to:
*Create COSHH assessments from the gathering of SDS data and proposed operational usage to the specification of engineering controls such as LEV and the use of specific PPE as required.
*Work with the HS&E advisors in the approval of new materials and chemicals, ensuring that suitable and sufficient assessments are created, or reviewed where already in use.
*Record all COSHH risk assessments in the Safran software system. Note operational controls and actions in the Mango software system for the tracking to closure of mitigation actions.
*Work with the HS&E Advisors to identify suitable PPE for the use of employees when working with chemicals.
