The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing goods and materials to ensure our company's operational needs are met efficiently while aligning with our sustainability goals. The Materials Buyer will play a crucial role in the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating contracts. They will support projects that range from residential and commercial spaces to temporary solutions for events and emergency housing. Projects and Materials: The company is involved in a diverse array of projects, including: Residential Pods: Designing modular homes that prioritize energy efficiency and sustainable living. In this role, the Materials Buyer will focus on sourcing sustainable materials, such as: Recycled and Eco-friendly Materials: Identifying suppliers that provide recycled materials, low-VOC paints, and sustainable wood products. Insulation and Energy Solutions: Sourcing high-performance insulation and renewable energy options to enhance energy efficiency in pods. Responsibilities: Utilize existing bespoke systems to manage procurement activities. Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing. Plan inventory levels to maintain optimal stock levels. Check and manage deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials. Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing.
