Vacancy Information
Are you a successful, professional PIP2 accredited Detective Sergeant? Do you thrive on managing investigations from start to finish and enjoy the ownership and satisfaction of seeing a job through to the very end? Do you enjoy leading your team and giving them direction and investigative momentum by your evidenced leadership? You will be used to prioritising workloads and risk by an expert application of the national decision making model.
We’re looking for experienced and committed transferee DS investigators to form part of our exciting policing model and be at the very heart of our some of our most serious and high-profile investigations. We currently have a variety of vacancies across the main investigation bases of Reigate, Guildford and Staines. These locations host local specialist CID, Child abuse teams and Domestic abuse teams with the addition of a force-wide Sexual Offences Investigation Team.
This is a well-worn path with recent transferees coming from forces such as the MPS, West Mids Police, TVP and Hampshire.
Transferees will, after 18 months, be able to apply for other specialist opportunities in the same way as existing Surrey DS’s. For example, Surrey and Sussex have joint Major Crime Team, and Serious and Organised Teams, as well as there being DS roles in teams such a Complex Abuse Unit and Paedophile on-line investigation team.
The Role and Key Responsibilities
Our proximity to London and major motorway networks means that we have a wide range of challenging criminality to challenge our investigation teams.
As a valued member of our warm and welcoming force family, you’ll be valued as an individual, and trusted to do your job and make your own decisions. Here, you will have a real opportunity to get your voice heard. With support to become the best you can be, both professionally and personally, you will enjoy scope to take on a range of roles, specialise in areas that interest you, and take advantage of progression opportunities.
We help to keep Surrey as one of the nation’s most desirable counties in which to live and work. From beautiful countryside to vibrant towns, Surrey has a place and pace of life to suit everyone. What’s more, London, the south coast and two international airports are all close by.
